Kate O’Driscoll Aspiring Leadership Award
As a Principal and a teacher Kate O’Driscoll had a wonderful sense of humour, unflagging energy and warmth of love.
Kate believed her role as a leader was a privilege and she embraced the challenge of being called to serve in a Catholic school. She believed with a passion that each child who comes through the school gate is a precious gift from God and deserved every chance to become the person they are destined to be.
Kate understood and lived the Mission of Jesus to bring his Good News to the poor. She worked to create learning environments where children could grow daily in faith, wisdom, knowledge and confidence.
Kate had an endless capacity to engage her leadership team in deep and challenging thinking. She knew that education should sweep children up in a learning process based on sound research, quality teaching and a genuine love for every child, no matter how challenging they might be.
We are very grateful to the O’Driscoll family for allowing us to name our Aspiring Leadership Award in her honour.
